Because He Loves Me

'Because He Loves Me' is the first song after a long absence from song crafting (1974 – 1983).  The reason for this is that not many people encourage me.  There was no great demand or interest in the Baptist circles for new songs.  There was much preaching against worldly and rock music.  Also, it was the time I was in school, being very busy with family, working and study.

'Because He Loves Me' came to me while driving our children to Christian School.  Rob and Denise (our children) listened as the song came to me at that time.  It has long been a favorite of many in our church.

I still can’t figure out why God would want to save the likes of me except for his great love of which he is.  I’m still glad he did.  I believe in eternal security and have never even considered the thought of losing my salvation.  Without salvation in Christ Jesus, I could never abide with him forever more.
